Ruling of iqaamah whilst performing salaah alone

Question

What is the ruling of iqaamah whilst reading alone according to the Hanafi mazhab... Is it sunnah or wajib?

Answer

If one is performing salaah individually (e.g. due to some valid excuse such as sickness, etc.), then it is better (mustahab) for him to call out the iqaamah and perform his salaah. However, if he does not call out the iqaamah and performs his salaah, his salaah will be valid.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
