Question

A women received mehr in the form of property upon marriage from her deceased husband, and has chosen to marry a new person. Must the family of the deceased husband give her share in the families property after she remarried another person?

Answer

Yes, if the property was given to her as mahr, then it belongs to her and it will have to be given to her. Withholding this wealth from her is extortion and oppression. Even if she remarries, whatever is due to her will have to be given to her.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
