Discharging kaffarah of an oath according to the rate of sadaqatul fitr in one's country

Question

A person in America wants to give kaffarah-e-yameen in South Africa. Can he give it according to the rate of sadaqatul fitr in South Africa or will it have to be according to the rate in America? Please advise

Answer

Since he is living in America, he should discharge the kaffarah according to the rate of sadaqatul fitr in his country. If he wishes to give it in another country, then he may do so, but the equivalent of the value of sadaqatul fitr in his country will be considered.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
