Reading aayatul kursi and blowing on family members who are living far away
Question
I have the habit of reciting aayat ul kursi (once) followed by the last three surahs 3 times each and then doing a dum on myself and my family members who are living in other places and countries by imagining their faces one by one and doing dum in the approximate direction.
I would generally do that amal at any time of the day with the intention of safety and well-being of myself and the loved ones. I would like to know:
1. Is such practice permissible and supported by some evidence?
2. Is there any added significance and benefit of continuing this practice compared to normal masnoon prayers for self and family members?
3. Or whether it's an innovation and should be avoided?
Answer
It is not a sunnah practice, but it is permissible with the hope that Allah Ta'ala will grant them protection.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.

Is ruqyah (reciting for healing) permissible?
“One should avoid blowing on food and drinks. It is against the etiquette of eating and drinking to do. It would be better and closer to proper manners, to wait for one’s food or drink to cool down before eating/drinking.”
