Giving a stray cat to someone to look after

Question

If I find any stray cat, I don't know if the cat belongs to anyone. There is no belt or collar or anything. I tried to look if anybody is searching for his cat.

If it seems that nobody is claiming it or somebody has intentionally left it, can I take it and give it to someone who will take care of it? The cat will not be able to get food and survive well on its own on streets.

Answer

It is permissible.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
