Married woman marrying another man
Question
I'm a revert Muslim and need an answer to my question.
If a couple made nikaah and after a year whilst being in nikaah the wife gets married in civil marriage to another man and holds the man's surname, does the nikah still have value, but she did this without her husband's consent?
Answer
The second nikaah is not valid. She is still in the nikaah of the first person.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
