Mother-in-law hugging her son-in-law

Question

I would like to know whether a mother in law can hug their son in law?

Answer

She is a mahram and the laws of a mahram are applicable, but we strongly discourage this on account of the abundance of fitnah nowadays.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
