Kissing the keys of the Kabah shareef and kissing the feet of elders

Question

1. Is it permissible to kiss the keys of the Kabah with the intention that it can bring you blessings?

2. Is it permissible to touch and kiss the feet of elders with the intention that it can bring you blessings?

3. If the answer is yes, how is this not bidah or shirk?

Answer

1. Yes.

2. We strongly discourage this. Sometimes this outwardly appears like making sajdah and prostrating before someone.

3. Kissing is not done as an act of ibaadat. It is done for the love of the Ka`bah Shareef.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
