Question

In 2024 a marriage proposal was proposed for. My mother asked a Moulana for istikhaara. He said that don't marry your daughter here as the stars of the groom and girl doesn't align (he checked by names). The marriage will end up in divorce and they will be not good for each other.

I didn't consider because I thought that only Allah knows the future and qadar. I performed istikhaara for few days and the process went out smooth. So I thought its Allah's sign and I married him. But it turned out to be a toxic marriage and ended up in divorce after a year only in 2026 (even I tried to reconcile to him and I didn't want the divorce but he made the issue on his own and created a fight and divorced me). Now I am confused, is it a test from Allah?

Answer

The knowledge of the future is only known to Allah Ta'ala. No person has the power to access the knowledge of the future.

Hence, it was not permissible for your mother to ask the person to inform her about your future. Your mother should make taubah for this. The Hadith strictly prohibits one from going to a fortune teller and asking him to inform oneself regarding one's future.

Apart from this, you should understand that many a times, these fortune tellers who look at stars and inform people of the future, it turns out against what they say. So you should turn your Heart to Allah Ta'ala alone and seek His grace.

Think to yourself that the divorce was decreed by Allah Ta'ala and Insha Allah, Allah Ta'ala will grant you a better future. Allah Ta'ala knows what is best for each of His servants at different times in their lives.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
