Teaching a child with a dominant left hand to eat with the right hand
Question
My daughter seems to be dominant in her left hand. I never thought there is anything wrong with this but comments from a few family members have made me doubt myself.
As parents, we encourage her to follow the sunnah as best as possible (eating with right hand, dirty things with left hand etc. etc.) But when it comes to regular, day to day life - she seems more inclined to use her left hand and it seems her left hand is stronger than the right.
Should we go out of our way to change this (since she is still small and perhaps she can be trained)?
As stated, we emphasise and remind her to follow the sunnah as best as possible, but over and above this, is there any problem with her being dominant in her left hand?
Answer
If she is able to use her right hand to eat, then she should eat with her right hand.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.

Where scholars differ, it’s safer to take the more cautious view.
