Question

Maulana Fazlur Rahman Azmi Sahab of Madrasah Arabia Islamia, Azaadville, South Africa writes in his book: "A person becomes a musafir by travelling 54 english miles not 48 miles. Is this correct because I was told a person becomes a musafir by travelling 48 English miles?

Answer

This is the view of Maulana Fazlur Rahmaan Saheb. However, the majority of our Ulama hold the opinion that a person will become musaafir by travelling 78km.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
