Leaving one's wife and breaking of relations with one's children

Question

Can a man start over and walk away from his children of his previous marriage without having anything to do with them in future? Can he completely cut himself off from his children?

Answer

If he has valid reasons to leave his wife he can divorce her, but there is no reason for him to break relationship from his children. His children are his responsibility right until his last day.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
