Can the sunnats of fajr be performed after the fardh?
Published as Sunnats of Fajr if one is late for jamaat
Question
If one is late for fajr jamaat, and performing the sunnats will result in missing jamaat, what should one do?
Can the sunnats of fajr be performed after the fardh? I have noticed some brothers doing this?
Answer
If one is able to perform the two rakaats Sunnah and still get the jamaat, then one should not omit the two rakaats Sunnah. If one is sure that through reading the two rakaats Sunnah, one will miss the jamaat, then in this case one should not perform the Sunnah. Instead one should join the jamaat.
No
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
