How to complete the missed rakaats of maghrib Salaah
Question
In maghrib I missed 2 rakaats and joined the 3rd rakat, how should I complete the two rakaats?
Answer
After the Imaam makes salaam, you should perform one rakaat wherein you will recite Surah faatiha and a Surah and thereafter sit for tashahhud. After the tashahhud you will stand up and perform the last rakaat with Surah faatiha and a Surah and you will complete the balance of the Salaah in the normal manner.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.

لو أدرك ركعة من المغرب قضى ركعتين وفصل بقعدة فيكون بثلاث قعدات وقرأ في كل فاتحة وسورة ... ولو أدرك ركعة من الرباعية فعليه أن يقضي ركعة يقرأ فيها الفاتحة والسورة ويتشهد ويقضي ركعة أخرى كذلك ولا يتشهد (الفتاوى الهندية 1/ 91)
فمدرك ركعة من غير فجر يأتي بركعتين بفاتحة وسورة وتشهد بينهما وبرابعة الرباعي بفاتحة فقط
قال الشامي في رد المحتار : لو أدركه في ركعة الرباعي يقضي ركعتين بفاتحة وسورة ثم يتشهد ثم يأتي بالثالثة بفاتحة خاصة عند أبي حنيفة وقالا ركعة بفاتحة وسورة وتشهد ثم ركعتين أوهما بفاتحة وسورة وثانيتهما بفاتحة خاصة وظاهر كلامهم اعتماد قول محمد (رد المحتار 1/ 596-597)
