Black banners coming from the direction of Khurasan

Question

Below is a statement by a sincere friend of mine is it inconformity with what comes in the kitabs? "If you see the black banners coming from the direction of khurasan,then go to them,even if u have to crawl, because among them will be allah's caliph the mahdi".

Answer

Yes, this appears in the hadeeth and it refers to the time when Mahdi (Radhiyallahu anhu) will appear.

و عن ثوبان قال : قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم : " إذا رأيتم الرايات السود قد جاءت من قبل خراسان فأتوها فإن فيها خليفة الله المهدي " . رواه أحمد والبيهقي في " دلائل النبوة " (مشكاة المصابيح)
