Eye Drops whilst Fasting

Question

When inserting eye drops into the eye, the fluid in the eye drains in the sinus passages (the nose and throat). Does this still validate the fast?

Answer

Inserting eye drops does not invalidate the fast.

ولو أقطر شيئا من الداء في عينه لايفطر صومه عندنا وإن وجد طعمه في حلقه وإذا بزق فرأى أثر الكحل ولونه في بزاقه عامة المشايخ على أنه لايفسد صومه كذا في الذخيرة وهو الأصح كذا في التبيين (الفتاوى الهندية ج1ص203)
