Reciting Surah Baqarah in a new property

Question

I have heard that if one buys a new property or shop it is good to recite Surah Al Baqarah in this place. I have also heard that one should recite the adhaan in the four corners of the building. Can you please clarify the adhaan part for me.

Answer

Reciting Surah Baqarah is sufficient. It is also permissible to call out the Azaan. However it should be known that this relates to amaliyaat and many of the prescriptions in amaliyaat are proven through experience. This should not be regarded as a Sunnah practice.
