Performing Salaah in jamaat on the plane
Question
If one is travelling in a plane and wants to read salah with another brother in jamaat, in the limited space at the back of the plane would it be permissible due to space being limited:
The imam stands directly in front of a single muqtadi?
The imam stands almost next to muqtadi, just a few centimetres in front (due to space restrictions the ideal of one foot behind the imam cannot work)?
The imam stands on the right of the muqtadi, muqtadi behind imam one foot length?
Answer
1. The jamaat is valid.
2. The namaaz valid.
3. Yes, it is correct.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.

Where scholars differ, it’s safer to take the more cautious view.

“Performing fard salaah on the plane seat is not valid for the person who has the ability to stand and perform salaah. Hence, the salaah performed on the plane seat was not valid and one's fard did not take place.”
