Concerned about being overweight

Question

I've always struggled with my weight and its something that always makes me feel ugly. Last week my father told me I look horrible and no man will ever marry me. I've become depressed and cry a lot. I have started dieting. My question is: Since they say Allah has predetermined our spouses, will the man I'm suppose to marry not like me just because I'm overweight?

Answer

Don’t put your mind to that. Just continue as a normal Muslim. Keep asking Allah Ta`ala for His favours and bounties, and that He conceals your weaknesses. May Allah Ta`ala grant you that which is best for you.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
