Keeping the name "Nuha"
Question
My husband and I are having our first child and we wanted your advice regarding a name we have chosen, Nuha. According to our understanding it means intelligence/wisdom. Please advise the correct spelling and if this is a good name to keep for our soon to be baby girl.
Answer
It is best to keep the names of Ambiya and Sahaaba for one's children. However keeping the name Nuha is permsisible. The correct spelling in Arabic is النهى.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
