Placing the deceased on a trolley for Janaazah Salaah

Question

I have a question with regards to Janazah Salah. In our Masjid they put the deceased on a trolley that has four wheels and then they lead the Salaah. Is this Prayer Valid?

Answer

Yes.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.

عن الحسن قال غسلوه وكفنوه وحنطوه صلى الله عليه و سلم ثم وضع على سرير فأدخل عليه المسلمون أفواجا يقومون يصلون عليه ثم يخرجون ويدخل آخرون حتى صلوا عليه كلهم (ابن سعد 2/ 251)

و قوله ( ووضعه ) أي على الأرض أو على الأيدي قريبا منها … فلا تصح على غائب و محمول على نحو دابة

قال الشامي : أي كمحمول على أيدي الناس ، فلا تجوز في المختار إلا من عذر (رد المحتار 2/ 208)
