Are CBD oil and cannabis permissible?

“The Fuqaha have deemed the usage of Marijuana and other similar substances as Haraam because it causes one to become intoxicated. However, it’s usage as a medicine will only be permitted when certain conditions are found, which are:”

“Hemp, or industrial hemp is a variety of the Cannabis plant species that is grown specifically for the industrial uses of its derived products. Hemp seeds can be eaten raw, ground into a meal, sprouted, made into hemp milk (akin to soy milk), prepared as tea, and used in baking.”

“CBD is a chemical that is derived from the cannabis plant. The cannabis plant has the potential of giving one the feeling of being “high”, as recorded (in articles) on the internet. The chemical derived from the plant would, therefore, be categorized as a drug and would not be permissible to utilize under normal circumstances.”

“In terms of Shariah, Marijuana/Dagga is an intoxicant and holds the ruling of prohibition as is the case of all other intoxicants. Umm Salamah Radhiyallahu Anha says, “Rasulullah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam prohibited every intoxicant and those (substances) which slacken a person’s mind.” (Abu Dawood 3/329)”
