Selling Warthogs

Question

A Muslim farmer has a warthog. Can he sell this animal?

Answer

A warthog is an African wild pig with bristly gray skin, a large head, warty lumps on the face, and curved tusks. According to Shara’ah, to sell pigs of any sort is impermissible.

Therefore, to sell a warthog will be deemed impermissible.

ونقل السائحاني عن الهندية ويجوز بيع سائر الحيوانات سوى الخنزير وهو المختار

خنزیر نجس العین ہے اور قطعی حرام ہے، اس کو فروخت کرنا بیع باطل ہے، ہر گز جائز نہیں ، جیسا کہ در مختار میں ہے
