The green dome

Question

Is the current dome/structure at the qabr of Rasulullah صلى الله عليه و سلم an innovation and against his teachings?

Answer

In all the glorious periods of Islam the learned and the pious haven't condemned this practice. Hence, there is no need to call this an innovation.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
