Who should sit in the hearse with the driver?

Question

Is there any particular ruling as to who should sit in the hearse with the driver?

Answer

There is no specification in this regard. However, if the deceased is a female, then a mahram should be present in the hearse.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
