Question

Kindly give clarification in the light of Shari'ah. Here in Cambridge, Canada, there will be a program of nasheed that has been organised to pay tribute to late Junaid Jamshed by Islamic Centre of Canada. Is it permissible in Shari'ah to have such an event organised to pay tribute to the deceased? Is it some way of esaal-e-swaab? Is it a type of Bid'ah?

Answer

There is no basis for this. If you have a sincere liking for him then each person in his individual time and place may recite some Qur'aan Shareef or do some sadaqah and transfer the thawaab to the deceased.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
