Saying "In the name of Jesus" constitutes shirk
Question
A friend of mine said "in the name of Jesus" before eating. I told him it's shirk and he asked for any prooof from the Hadith or a verse or chapter from the Qur'an which honestly I don't know. I need help on this because not only him, there are some Muslims around me that make the same mistakes using someone's name other than Allah when doing things.
Answer
All these are shirk.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.

Where scholars differ, it’s safer to take the more cautious view.
