Girl getting married without the permission of her wali

Question

If an adult girl, without permission of Islamic legal guardian, decides to get married to a guy, with whom she had a sexual affair with, would it be equivalent to Islamic Nikkah? If not, what contradictions apply to this situation in light of Islam?

Answer

The nikaah will be valid if the boy is of the same social standing as the girl.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
