What type of footwear should a person wear in Ihraam?

Question

I would like to know what kind of slipper I can wear in the state of ihraam. Is it a must to wear a 2 belt slipper or I can wear the slipper which is open in the front and back?

Answer

If you are talking about a slipper or sandal, then for a male it is a requirement of ihraam that he wears such a sandal through which the area from the cuneiform bone (protruding bone in the middle of the foot) upwards be left uncovered.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
