The Sunnah Time to Leave for Mina

Question

If a person only leaves Makkah Mukarramah for Mina after zawaal on the 8th of Zul Hijjah, did he fufil the sunnah in regard to the time he should leave Makkah Mukarramah for Mina?

Answer

In regard to this mas’alah, there are two opinions of the Fuqahaa. The first opinion is that it is sunnah for one to leave for Mina after sunrise, and the second opinion is that it is sunnah for one to leave for Mina after zawaal. The person’s action conformed to the second opinion.

Note: From both these opinions, many Fuqahaa prefer the first opinion (one should leave for Mina after sunrise).

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
