Question

Is it Sunnah to partake of Sehri before the 'fast' of Eidul Adha?

Answer

It is sunnah for one to refrain from consuming anything before the qurbaani animal is slaughtered, and thus the first thing one consumes should be the meat of the qurbaani animal.

This is in order to show gratitude to Allah Ta'ala for the qurbaani meat which is an invitation to the servants from Allah Ta'ala.

However, this is not a fast. The Hadith has prohibited fasting on the two Eids. Hence, there is no sehri on this day of Eidul Adha.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
