Making Istikhara to obtain information about peoples past

Question

Could one do istikhaarah to find out what happened in the past in someone's life such as husband's life before marriage?

Answer

Istikhara is not carried out for this purpose. Istikhara is to seek goodness from Allah Ta'ala for some thing permissible e.g. nikaah, business, etc, one wishes to carry out in the future. Istikhara is not carried out to obtain information about peoples past through dreams, etc.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
