Men wearing clothes made from silk

Question

Silk cloth is haram for us men. Explain to me why in detail please.

Answer

The Hadith explains that wearing clothing made of silk is permissible for the women of this ummah and haraam for the men of this ummah.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.

عن أبي موسى الأشعري أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه و سلم قال حرم لباس الحرير والذهب على ذكور أمتي وأحل لإناثهم (جامع الترمذي #1720)

( يحرم لبس الحرير ولو بحائل ) بينه وبين بدنه ( على المذهب ) الصحيح وعن الإمام إنما يحرم إذا مص الجلد قال في القنية وهي رخصة عظيمة في موضع عمت به البلوى ( أو في الحرب ) فإنه يحرم أيضا عنده وقالا يحل في الحرب ( على الرجل لا المرأة إلا قدر أربع أصابع ) (الدر المختار 6/351)
