Marrying one's niece

Question

I am a Muslim boy and I want to marry my sister's daughter. Is this halaal or haraam? Please tell me the answer in the light of Qur'an and Hadith.

Answer

Your sister's daughter is your niece. It is haraam in Islam for one to get married to his niece.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
