Question
Is it permissible to buy or sell an item with a guarantee?
Answer
It is permissible to buy or sell an item with a guarantee or with a warranty. However, it is not permissible to purchase or to sell the guarantee/warranty separately. Similarly, it is not permissible to purchase an extended warranty after purchasing the item.
Purchasing a separate warranty will fall in the category of a conventional insurance.
